This course is designed for the novice rifle shooter to get up to speed with all the long range lingo and methods, learn proper techniques that allow the shooter more success on the range and the hunt.
Built for the novice shooter interested in building a LR skillset and qualifying for the more advanced courses coming in 2026 built around the military Sniper courses and craft learned in the Teams.
Learn all aspects of long range shooting:
• How to select calibers
• Scope and Reticle choices
• Understand scope manipulation
• How to properly mount a scope
• Mils, MOA, Ballistic, BDC
• Ballistic Calculator app fundamentals and data entry
• Safety
• Precison Fundamentals
• Zeroing
• Validating Ballistic data, shooting yard lines 100-200 meters in basic course
• LR2 introduction(course to follow)
Requirements:
• Bring your own rifle and scope (use on of ours by reserving ahead of schedule)
- Preferred calibers for LR1: 5.56x45, 7.52x51 (.308 winchester), 300 Win Mag.
• 120 rounds of ammo (no armor piercing or tracers)
• Eye and Ear pro(electronic)
• Sunscreen and proper clothing (Hours of outdoor instruction/practical application)
• Note pad and pen
• Shooting mat (or exercise mat)
• Android or iOS phone with enough storage space to download Ballistic Calculator App.
