Course Overview

TacMed 2 focuses on rapid decision-making, threat awareness, and trauma management under stress, movement, and simulated threat conditions. You'll learn to identify, assess, and manage life-threatening injuries common to first responders, security professionals, and trained civilians. Instruction emphasizes operating under fire, casualty care during movement, and response to mass-casualty incidents.

Mission Focus

Our Intermediate Tactical Medicine course aims to reduce preventable death in high-threat environments by bridging the gap between military combat lifesaving skills and civilian EMS capabilities.

Training Blocks

  • Threat recognition and active threat considerations

  • Cover vs. concealment and movement to safety

  • Rapid trauma assessment under stress

  • Hemorrhage control and wound management

  • Airway and breathing control

  • Shock prevention and management

  • Pediatric trauma considerations

  • Triage and evacuation

  • Casualty movement: drags, carries, and team evacuation techniques

Training Methodology

Our expert instructors will guide you through hands-on drills, dry practice, role-playing, and scenario-based evolutions to ensure you're equipped to handle high-pressure situations.

Performance Objectives

Upon completing this course, you'll be able to:

  • Establish medical and tactical priorities in high-threat environments

  • Conduct rapid trauma assessments under stress

  • Perform self-aid and buddy-aid techniques

  • Control life-threatening hemorrhage

  • Manage airway and breathing

  • Apply effective wound care

  • Prevent and manage shock

  • Move and evacuate casualties under threat

  • Provide care to pediatric patients

  • Deliver care to yourself and others during stress-based scenarios

Prerequisites and Requirements

  • Prior medical experience or completion of our Basic Tactical Medicine Course is required

  • Weather-appropriate training clothing (old clothing recommended due to simulated blood exposure)

  • Packed lunch and water bottle

  • Notebook and pen

Physical Requirements

This course involves physically demanding tasks, including casualty movement, ground work, and sustained activity during scenario training. You must be in good physical condition and capable of lifting, dragging, and carrying weight under stress. If you have medical concerns, please consult your physician prior to enrollment.
